More about me…
I have often lamented that a child’s education extends beyond the classroom, but there isn’t a degree in how to be a parent or how to navigate complex systems like the world of special education. My goal is to help support families on the journey of educating their children
I believe I was meant to be a teacher. I have ALWAYS worked with kids. It started with babysitting, after school programs, and summer camps. I even hung out at developmental preschools with my psychologist dad (who specializes in autism and positive behavior intervention). Eventually, I realized that teaching was going to be my life’s work and earned a bachelors degree in Elementary Education (Liberal Studies) from Azusa Pacific University.
I am a firm believer in the importance of early intervention and building strong foundations as early as possible. I taught in a Pre-K inclusion classroom before eventually moving on to teach Special education in elementary schools. I have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercy College and I am a National Board Certified Teacher as an Exceptional Needs Specialist.
As an adult, I learned that being an educator was actually my mom’s dream, but life brought her to nursing instead. Teaching is in my bones and I am here to support you and your family.
